Job Introduction
Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative – Variable hours at our Okehampton Training Camp in Devon.
As the Training Area Operative – Variable Hours, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.
We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training Estate or someone who has a background of working in a rural environment.
Training Area Operative – Variable Hours is a flexible role, offering you the opportunity to work around other commitments, or a way of earning extra income.
As a Variable Hours member of staff we guarantee you a minimum of 8 hours a month, this will usually be early mornings and late evenings
Main Responsibility
To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities are fit for purpose
Preparing military ranges and training areas for use
Grounds maintenance
Track and fencing maintenance
Driving and operating vehicles
Direct, support and advise training estate users both civilian and military
Use both IT and paper based systems to complete any relevant documentation
The Ideal Candidate
Knowledge of Health & Safety, manual handling and safe systems of work
Work in a diverse multi-tasking mobile team environment
Basic labouring and caretaking skills
Excellent communication skills
Basic IT skills
Willingness to undertake training to work in high risk areas e.g. ranges & on Dartmoor
Have a full driver’s licence valid in the United Kingdom (essential)
