Summary of the Role
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Account Manager to join our dynamic team at Landmarc Support Services. In this role, you will be responsible for managing key customer relationships and a diverse portfolio of accounts, including Foreign Forces (FF) and Other Government Departments (OGD). You will also contribute to business development by identifying and designing training packages and promoting the Defence Training Estate (DTE) as a preferred choice for military and government training activities.
You will work closely with regional staff and customers to ensure access to the right facilities, provide high-quality training experiences, and deliver timely and accurate invoicing. Flexibility is key, as you will also support regional teams during peak periods and provide cover to other members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Account Management
- Act as the lead point of contact for all matters related to your customer portfolio.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
- Negotiate new business opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and company profitability.
- Record client interactions and ensure timely communication and follow-up.
Business Development
- Promote the use of the Defence Training Estate (DTE) to current and potential customers.
- Identify suitable training locations and help design training packages to meet customer needs.
- Forecast and track performance metrics including revenue and income targets.
- Assist the Business Development Manager and support Account Managers across all regions.
Operational Support
- Liaise with all functional areas to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Produce regular reports and data summaries.
- Ensure compliance with pricing structures and contribute to income generation efforts.
- Drive process improvements and assist in long-term strategic planning.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support business development initiatives.
- Undertake project management tasks.
- Cover for other Account Managers when required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Knowledge & Experience
- Strong understanding of the UK Defence Training Estate and its facilities.
- Experience in account and project management, ideally within a similar role.
- Skilled in designing training packages and identifying customer training needs.
- Familiarity with commercial pricing structures.
- IOSH Working Safely or equivalent Health & Safety knowledge.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with a high attention to detail.
- A positive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently.
- Proven track record of meeting objectives and performance standards.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel nationally.
- Successful completion of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
- Eligible for UK security vetting and residency of at least 5 years.
