Job Introduction

Landmarc Support Services is offering an exciting opportunity for a Training Area Operative to join the team at RAF Spadeadam. This role is unique within Landmarc and differs from the standard Training Area Operative roles found on most sites.

In this role, you will be part of the tactical radar section, responsible for deploying with the MOD using cutting-edge electronic warfare radar equipment to support electronic warfare training. You'll have the opportunity to travel to various Defence Training Estates across the UK and even abroad, visiting exciting locations like STANTA, Dartmoor, Salisbury Plain, and more.

Landmarc offers comprehensive training for this position. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about being part of a dedicated team, engaging with the military and be available for travel.  

Normal shifts will run from 08:00-17:00 however, the role will involve some early mornings, late shifts and a requirement to cover weekends due to deployments being organised similarly to MOD exercises, with shifts scheduled based on the client's needs.

Main Responsibility

Preparing military ranges and training areas for use

Basic servicing of radar equipment (training provided)

Driving and operating vehicles

Deploy and operate electronic warfare radar equipment (training provided)

Use both IT and paper based systems to complete any relevant documentation

Work in a diverse multi-tasking mobile team environment

The Ideal Candidate

Knowledge of Health & Safety, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work

Basic labouring and caretaking skills

Ability to complete documentation

IT skills

Willingness to undertake training to work in high-risk areas e.g. Transporting dangerous loads

Have experience working on military ranges and training areas (desirable)

Have a full driver’s license valid in the United Kingdom (essential)

Hold a specialist license e.g.  HGV, PCV (desirable)
