Job Introduction

Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative at Beckingham Training Area in Beckingham, Lincoln.

As the Training Area Operative, you will be part of a small team that plays a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, supporting with planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract

We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training Estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and brings an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant.

The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly over the course of a 37 hour working week, between the hours of 07:30-23:30. There will be a requirement to work some weekends, this is reflected in our Variable Days Allowance.

Main Responsibility

Rural estate maintenance, fencing repairs and maintenance

Grounds maintenance and vegetation cutting

Small scale forestry and arborical work

Stone track repairs and maintenance

Equipment testing

Operating plant machinery

Driving and operating vehicles

Preparing military ranges and training areas for use

Use both IT and paper based systems to complete any relevant documentation

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience in working in a rural or countryside environment (desirable)

Happy to work outdoors and willing to undertake practical work outdoors (essential)

Experience of using plant and equipment such as Tractors and associated attachments, ride on mowers and brushcutters (certificates desirable but training can be provided)

Experience of track and fencing maintenance (desirable)

Willingness to undertake any additional training (essential)

Basic labouring and caretaking skills

Basic IT skills

Knowledge of Health and Safety, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work

Have a full driver’s license valid in the United Kingdom (essential)
