Job Introduction
Landmarc Support Services is currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative at Lydd Camp, Romney Marsh, Kent.
As the Training Area Operative, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.
You will be required to work flexibly over the course of a 37 hour working week. You will be required to work some weekends, this is reflected in our Variable Days Allowance.
We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant.
Hours of work - 37 per week
Days of work - Mon- Sun
Contract - Permanent
Main Responsibility
Grounds maintenance duties including: cutting grass , repairing damaged fences and stone tracks
Making new targets and repairing damaged ones
Running Range control
Operating tools and machinery
Supporting the military while using the training facilities, undertaking hand over and take back of the ranges and training buildings
Replacing damaged targets on the Range and undertaking minor repairs to target systems
Completing documentation both on paper and on IT Systems
Reporting defects and unauthorised people on the estate
Been able to work within a team or on own to ensure we are meeting the requirements of the contract
The Ideal Candidate
Have a good knowledge of Health 7 Safety and safe systems of work
Be comfortable working outdoors all year round in all weather conditions
Have basic IT Knowledge and ability to use a tablet
Have a full drivers licence valid in the UK
Previous experience of grounds work and DIY is desirable – we can provide training for the right applicant
