Job Introduction
Landmarc Support Services is currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative at Sennybridge Training Camp in Powys.
As the Training Area Operative, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.
We are looking for someone who enjoys loan working, is self-motivating, with the ability to work as a team. A desirable candidate would either have previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training Estate or be keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn. Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant.
This role is being offered on a permanent basis over a 37 hour week. There will be a requirement to work some weekends, this is reflected in our Variable Days Allowance.
Main Responsibility
Preparing training areas for use
Maintenance on the Training Estate
Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (full training provided)
Basic forestry work (full training provided)
Equipment testing
Manufacturing and deploying targets (full training provided)
Driving and operating fleet vehicles
Supporting at our surrounding sites when required
Use of warning systems including training control offices, radar, flags and lights
Report any defects or issues and deal with unauthorised persons on the Training Estate
Direct, support and advise Training Estate users, both civilian and military
To complete all relevant documentation utilising both IT and paper based systems
Carry out any other additional requirements as needed
The Ideal Candidate
Knowledge of Health and Safety, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work
Experience as a range/ training area user (desirable)
Excellent of communication skills
Basic labouring and caretaking skills
Ability to complete documentation
Basic IT skills
Hold a Full Valid UK driving licence
