Job Introduction
Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative at Straight Point Rifle Range in Exmouth, Devon.
As the Training Area Operative, you will be part of a small team that plays a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.
We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training Estate or someone who has a background of working in a rural environment. Landmarc offer’s training programmes to promote growth within their teams, by supporting them to achieve advance status, this is reflected in enhanced salary.
This role is based over a 37 hour working week, from Monday – Friday.
Main Responsibility
Preparing military ranges and training areas for use
Grounds maintenance
Maintenance works on the range and training area
Report and deal with unauthorised persons on the Training Area Estate
Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training will be provided)
Driving and operating vehicles
Undertake development training
Use both IT and paper based systems to complete any relevant documentation
The Ideal Candidate
Knowledge of Health & Safety, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work
Basic labouring, caretaking skills
Work in a diverse multi-tasking mobile team environment
Excellent communication skills
Basic IT skills
Have a full driver’s license valid in the United Kingdom (essential)
