Job Introduction
Landmarc Support Services is currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative – Variable Hours at our Warcop Camp in Appleby in Westmorland.
As the Training Area Operative – Variable Hours, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.
The ideal candidate will be someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn. Landmarc will provide full training as part of this role.
As a Variable Hours member of staff we guarantee you a minimum of 8 hours a month, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a period of training upto 80 hours during the first 3 months, training days can be flexible. Once you have complete the initial training working hours will vary to suit our customer, however typically you would be expected to work from 21:00 – 04:00 in the summer months and 17:00– 00:01 during the winter season.
Main Responsibility
To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities are fit for purpose
Preparing military ranges and training areas for use
Grounds maintenance
Driving and operating vehicles
Direct, support and advise training estate users both civilian and military
Use both IT and paper based systems to complete any relevant documentation
The Ideal Candidate
Understanding of Health & Safety
Excellent communication skills
Ability to complete documentation
Basic IT skills
Have a full driver’s licence valid in the United Kingdom (essential)
