Job Introduction

Landmarc Support Services currently have an exciting opportunity for a Training Area Operative to support with Training Estate Public Safety (TEPS), at Westdown Camp in Tilshead and surrounding sites in Salisbury.

As the Training Area Operative (TEPS), you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.

We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training Estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training. The successful applicant must hold a full valid UK drivers licence in order to carry out patrolling duties.

You will be required to work flexibly over the course of a 35 hour working week between the hours of 06:00 – 21:00, from Monday – Sunday. Shifts will vary dependant of business need and time of year. A shift allowance of £1691 will be provided to reflect this.

Main Responsibility

To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities are fit for purpose

Reporting and monitoring defects and untoward occurrences such as; fly tipping, vandalism and other illegal activity

Preparing training areas for use

Preventative maintenance and grounds maintenance

Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training provided)

Driving and operating fleet vehicles

Use of warning systems including training control offices, barriers, fence lines and flags

Conduct boundary checks

Report unauthorised persons on the Training Area Estate

Report on tenant land usage

Direct and advise wider training estate users including the general public

 To complete all relevant documentation utilising both IT and paper based systems

 Carry out any other additional requirements as needed

The Ideal Candidate

Knowledge of Health and Safety such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work

Basic labouring and caretaking skills

Excellent communication skills

Ability to complete documentation

Basic IT skills

Hold a full valid UK driving licence (essential)

Experience as a range/ training area user (desirable)
