Landmarc Support Services is offering an exciting opportunity for two motivated Trainee Rural Operatives to join our dedicated team at West Tofts Camp in Norfolk.

This trainee role is perfect for individuals looking to immerse themselves in the world of Rural Estate Management, where you will gain hands-on experience and develop a wide range of skills that are crucial for managing and maintaining rural environments.

Main Responsibility

As a Trainee Rural Operative, you will have the opportunity to learn and master various aspects of estate management, including:

Rural Estate Maintenance: Gain practical skills in maintaining and enhancing rural landscapes

Stone Track Repairs and Maintenance: Learn the techniques needed to repair and maintain stone tracks

Operating Fleet and Plant Machinery: Receive training to operate tractors, diggers, small plant (strimmers and chainsaw) and other essential equipment for rural maintenance

Fence Repairs and Maintenance: Develop the know-how to repair and maintain fences across the estate

Tree Planting and Forestry Work: Gain essential knowledge of tree planting, felling, and small-scale forestry, including chainsaw operation and vegetation management

Nature and Conservation: Help undertake habitat restoration – from rabbit habitats, pond works to maintaining Scheduled Ancient Monuments

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn and committed to a future in rural estate management. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong interest in Rural Estate Maintenance, forestry, or countryside/environmental management
  • Comfort and willingness to operate plant and machinery (full training provided)
  • A solid understanding of Health and Safety practices
  • A proactive attitude with the drive and motivation to contribute to the improvement of the Rural Estate
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • A passion for working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physical fitness to handle the demands of the job
  • A willingness to undertake further training to enhance your skills
  • A full UK driving licence (essential)
