Technical Support Manager

Job Introduction

Salary: Up to £49,612.50 + £6,000 Car Allowance p/a

Base Location: West Tofts Camp, Thetford, Norfolk, IP26 5EP

Travel: Across Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex & Northamptonshire

 

A unique opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Technical Support Manager, a role central to maintaining a safe, compliant, and high‑performing built estate across the East region. You’ll provide trusted technical guidance, lead on statutory compliance, and contribute to the strategic decisions that ensure our estate continues to operate to the highest standards.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of statutory Big 6 compliance (Fire, DSEAR, Electrical, Asbestos, Legionella, Fuels & Gases)
  • Act as Deputy Responsible Person for Asbestos and Legionella
  • Ensure management plans are implemented and remedial actions completed
  • Train, guide and support delivery teams to embed best practice
  • Write specifications, review quotes and manage small contractor‑led works
  • Spot cost‑saving and income‑generating opportunities
  • Maintain and correct asset data
  • Hold appointment as Authorised Person (AP) where required

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Technical background in Mechanical, Electrical, Building or Civil Engineering (or time‑served equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of building services, SFG20, CDM, Legionella & Asbestos
  • Health & Safety experience (IOSH Managing Safely minimum)
  • Understanding of COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments & safe systems of work
  • Confident using asset/maintenance systems (Maximo experience ideal)
  • Experience supporting project delivery
  • A problem‑solving, improvement‑focused mindset
  • Ability to maintain high quality standards across functions
  • Full UK driving licence
