Job Introduction
We have an exciting opening for Team Manager to manage the service provision across the training area and ranges at Hythe in Kent. You will be responsible for the management and allocation of Training Facilities and Ranges as well as the wider rural estate.
Main Responsibility
Be the main point of contact for area of responsibility, liaising and collaborating with the employer, customers, SME’s and regional colleagues to ensure effective and efficient contract delivery.
To ensure ranges and facilities are fit for purpose in accordance with the allocation and ensure compliance with the contract.
Be responsible for a multidiscipline team in respect of work scheduling, performance, attendance, behaviour, capability, welfare, H&S and record keeping
Take ownership of rural delivery plans delegated by the Rural Estate Delivery Advisor and Rural Maintenance Manager
Identify and ensure delivery of reactive maintenance tasks while scheduling PPM’s and ensuring statutory compliance
Ensure range assignment instructions and other documentation is reviewed and kept up to date.
Management of contractors
Managing team skills and capability
Manage fleet, plant and machinery
Manage budgets for on costs (materials. overtime, training, PPE etc)
Act as fire focal point ensuring buildings are compliant and records are up to date
Complete all relevant documentation utilising both IT and paper based systems.
Take responsibility for their service area and ensure effective and efficient contract delivery
Be responsible for a multidiscipline team in respect of work scheduling, performance, attendance, behaviour, capability, welfare, H&S and record keeping
Able to communicate and collaborate with all Stakeholders (at all levels) in order to meet customer requirements
Have strong IT skills with ability to use bespoke databases as well as standard MS packages (They will be using BAMs & MMS extensively)
The Ideal Candidate
People management experience with a proven track record in performance management (Level 4 qualification desirable)
Knowledge of Health and Safety to a minimum of IOSH Managing Safely level (NEBOSH desirable)
Experience in management of vehicles, equipment and plant – an understanding of PUWER is desirable
Military experience is not required but knowledge of range assignment instructions and range standing orders including JSPs would be desirable
Ideally a proven track record in an operational management role (ideally estate management, service provision or Facilities Management background)
Proven track record in managing a team
Experience in managing budgets
Knowledge and understanding of building statutory compliance and PPMs
Experience of service delivery to tight deadlines and to appropriate quality standards
