At Landmarc, we play a vital role in maintaining and managing the Defence Training Estate (DTE), ensuring that military training areas are safe, functional, and ready for use. We’re looking for a Team Leader to coordinate a dedicated team and oversee the delivery of essential estate services.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be the first point of contact for your team, ensuring tasks are allocated effectively and standards are consistently met. You’ll help maintain the operational readiness of training facilities, liaise with stakeholders, and uphold safety and compliance across the estate.

Shifts run between: Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30, Friday 07:30 – 10:30
Hours of work: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Strensall Training Area, Scott Moncrief Road, Strensall, York, YO32 9XB

Main Responsibilities
- Lead team members in duties and performance
- Task allocation and work checking
- Working alongside the team in general housekeeping, building and grounds maintenance
- Run Range Control
- Motivate, guide and mentor team members to achieve goals.
- Carry out Range Maintenance tasks
- Operate fleet vehicles and plant machinery as required
- Carry out Soft FM tasks as required
- Ensure all safety regulations and operational procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain accurate records and documentation using IT and paper-based systems
- Perform additional duties as required to support the overall success of the team
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous leadership experience
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety protocols, including COSHH, manual handling, and risk assessments
- Experience in Grass cutting, Tree felling, Spraying and Tractor driving
- Proven ability to organise, prioritise and plan workload
- Familiarity with estate services, grounds maintenance, and plant machinery operations
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database management
- Understanding of SARTS and target Systems on Military Gallery Ranges
- A proactive approach to learning, with a willingness to undertake further training
- A valid UK manual driving licence is essential for this role
