Job Introduction
As the Project Manager (Minor Works) you will be responsible for projects across the East of England with your main office based in West Tofts, Norfolk. You will be from either a construction/civils or M&E background and will be capable of managing multiple projects at once, each valued up to £1m.
You will take the lead on complex projects, define and develop the client brief, establish preferred options and be responsible for CDM compliance. You will oversee design and delivery of project works including project planning, liaise with statutory bodies to gain relevant approvals, identify and manage project risks, minimise through-life costs and achieve sustainability targets. You will also prepare firm price documentation, manage delivery and handover of supply chain contracts to the client.
Main Responsibility
Manage complex projects through all stages of the project lifecycle
Deliver projects to tight deadlines to the appropriate quality standard
Understand and interpret budgets and contract requirements
Communicate clearly with a variety of complex stakeholders
Excellent negotiating and customer care skills/collaborative worker
Able to manage and work with contractors
IT skills including MS Excel and MS Project
The Ideal Candidate
A depth of Project Management experience backed up by a formal Level 5 qualification (HND), or higher, in a construction related subject.
Knowledge of construction health and safety such as CDM Regulations, COSHH, LOLER, PUWER, Legionella and Asbestos.
A Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, MSP, APM PMQ, etc.
Membership of a Project Management or construction related professional body.(desirable)
Demonstrable knowledge of construction contract management including the tender process (NEC preferred)
Understanding of risk management
Knowledge of Building Regulations and Standards including those covering Scotland and Northern Ireland where applicable
The ability to monitor and communicate project financial performance and administration for all assigned projects
Workload scheduling and work order processes in a multi- tasking environment
It is desirable to have experience of working within the Defence environment
It is desirable to have knowledge of the MoD Defence Contracts
