Job Introduction

Landmarc Support Services are currently looking to recruit a Programme Manager to manage the delivery of capital and reactive works across the North region, the successful applicant will need to be based at our regional head office, Wathgill, however must be prepared to travel to all of our sites across the North region including Warcop, Otteburn, Spadeadam. Halton and Strensall

This exciting role will ensure that all directed projects through a pre designed programme are delivered as well as preparing and developing future works as directed by the client.  . You will be responsible for the collation of Regional reports for the client and senior management within Landmarc as well as the customer. You report directly to the Regional Operations Manager as well as having direct line management of a well-established Project team.

Main Responsibility

Be part of the Regional Management Team being responsible for delivery of the region’s programme of capital and reactive works.

Manage programme risks and issues, be cognisant of project level risks ensuring adherence to overall programme delivery, including milestones, quality and budgets as well as monitoring and creating SON’s.

Implement strategic direction and guidance whilst providing instruction to project managers in relation to all aspects of project delivery.

Utilise the Common Data Environment to update key stakeholders and report on in-year programme delivery progress, risks, issues, and future programme delivery.

Manage and maintain the Forward Works Register, liaising regularly with key stakeholders, PMs and the core delivery team, the customer’s contract team and Estate Facilities Managers.

Maintain and promote effective communications and relations with the asset management teams and wider Landmarc departments.

Line manage the region’s project management personnel, carrying out yearly and mid-year appraisals, managing discipline and career professional development

Deliver contract change; be prepared to manage change of contract from basic principles to In Service Date as well as maintain the new contract outputs within the delivery time periods and beyond.

The Ideal Candidate

Knowledge of programme management gained through proven, evidenced and demonstrable experience. Ideally supported with a MSP practitioner qualification, or equivalent

Knowledge of project management gained through proven, evidenced and demonstrable experience. Ideally supported with a minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Project Management, or equivalent

Knowledge of construction gained through proven, evidenced and demonstrable experience. Ideally supported with a minimum of a Level 5 construction related qualification, or equivalent

Knowledge of construction H&S gained through proven, evidenced and demonstrable experience. Ideally supported with a minimum of a Level 4 construction H&S related qualification, or equivalent

Knowledge and understanding of CDM Regulations and the roles / responsibilities of duty holders

Working knowledge of New Engineering Contract (NEC), ideally the ‘Engineering and Construction Short Contract’ and ‘Professional Services Short Contract’ templates

Knowledge of Building Regulations and Standards, including those covering Scotland and Northern Ireland

Experience of communicating with customers and key stakeholders

Sound knowledge and understanding of risk management

The ability to monitor and communicate project financial performance and administration for all assigned projects

Knowledge of workload scheduling and work order processes, preferably in a multi- tasking environment

Manage the delivery of a programme with a high volume of projects of various types, complexities and values

Able to ensure the delivery of projects to tight deadlines, specifications, appropriate quality standards and budgets

Be able to prioritise projects, workloads and ensure projects are assigned to the personnel with the right level of competence to delivery successfully

Understand and interpret budget and contract requirements

Ensure that the highest of health and safety standards are maintained across all projects

Communicate clearly and effectively with all stakeholders and be comfortable working with ambiguity

Drive continuous in the Regional Programme Delivery team

Be IT literate, capable of effectively utilising Microsoft Office applications such a Word, Excel, Project etc.

Be willing to undertake career development courses when/if they become available
