Maintenance Fabricator

Job Introduction

Landmarc Support Services currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Fabricator to join the team at RAF Spadeadam in Cumbria.

This role requires someone with an in depth knowledge and skill set of Fabrication, Metal Working Machining and Welding. The successful candidate will be responsible any general Fabrication duties and Carpentry on site.

This is a position is being offered on a Permanent contract, covering 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

Main Responsibility

  • To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities are fit for purpose in accordance with the allocation and ensure compliance with the NTEP service modules, focusing on but not limited to your specialist area e.g. repairs and maintenance (assets, buildings, vehicles and equipment), remedial maintenance, using tools and company equipment, housekeeping, preventative maintenance, stock management, inspections, work in potentially hazardous environments (e.g. heights or confined spaces), maintenance and fabrication of targets
  • To liaise with all stakeholders to ensure effective site delivery e.g. asset users (including tenants), the Employers representatives and contractors
  • To complete all relevant documentation utilising both IT and paper based systems
  • To carry out additional works in response to additional contract requirements
  • Maintain competence, skills and abilities within relevant discipline
  • Maintenance relating to other trade skills, operation and maintenance of plant equipment, working on other sites with travel where required
  • Mentoring apprentices or trainees
  • Driving tasks including specialist plant machinery where required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge of specialism gained through the completion of level 3 qualification such as City and Guilds, ONC, NVQ or equivalent supported by relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Experience of communicating with customers
  • Work in a diverse multi-tasking mobile team environment
  • Demonstrate proven track record of achieving objectives
  • Ability to operate and maintain a range of tools and equipment
  • Ability to complete documentation
  • Basic IT skills
  • Must hold a Full Valid UK Driving Licence (Essential)
  • Willingness to undertake training to work in high risk areas e.g. confined spaces, working at height
