Job Introduction
As a Data and BI Analyst, you will specialise in front end reporting solutions such as Power BI, and will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that transform complex data into actionable insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, extract and analyse data from our data warehouse, and deliver data stories and data visualisations that will drive informed decision making in the business and as part of our obligations to our customers. Your passion for deploying data solutions to drive real value to ours users, and your ability to follow a process as part of a team will be instrumental in the success of this role.
Main Responsibility
- Engage with stakeholders to specify, design and build new reporting.
- Produce and enhance data models using a star-schema approach.
- Assist in driving the data strategy by supporting a ‘co-authoring’ approach with our report owners.
- Train end users on how to use Power BI or run any of our reporting solutions.
- Assist the business to resolve data quality issues.
- Efficiently handle large sets of data and be able to confidently process them into required formats.
- Perform data analysis using Power BI, Excel and other tools such as SSMS using SQL.
- Analyse data to identify trends and patterns to facilitate business insights.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
- Identify and develop opportunities for more effective data usage in the business.
- Prepare monthly performance reports.
The Ideal Candidate
- A few years of previous experience working as a data analyst
- Knowledge and experience of data analysis techniques and practices
- Can demonstrate that you’re able to keep up with technology changes and best practises from the data community and are keen to demonstrate how to incorporate them into your role.
- Strong experience of working with Power BI
- Live Connections and Import
- Advanced Excel skills
- Data Modelling Skills (Kimble)
- Specification writing
- Ability to train others taking into consideration different learning styles.
