About Landmarc

Landmarc Support Services is the industry-leading partner to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), responsible for managing and maintaining the UK’s Defence Training Estate (DTE). With the launch of a new 10-year Training Estate Support Contract (TESC) in April 2024, we continue to deliver exceptional service that enables mission-critical military training.

Our Information and Technology Department underpins contract delivery through robust and innovative IT services, helping Landmarc teams work efficiently and effectively across the UK.

The Role: Data Insight and Reporting Lead

Are you a proven data leader with a passion for turning information into impactful insight?

We’re looking for a Data Insight and Reporting Lead to spearhead our growing team of analysts, engineers, and insight specialists. As a key member of our IT leadership team (ITLT), you’ll drive the strategy, architecture and delivery of our insight and reporting solutions — ensuring business-critical data supports both Landmarc’s operations and our client’s evolving needs.

This is a strategic, hands-on role for someone who has built and led high-performing data functions, has a strong technical foundation in business intelligence platforms, and can translate business objectives into data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and develop a small, high-impact team including analysts, engineers, and performance specialists.
  • Define and deliver the Landmarc data, insight and reporting strategy aligned to business and client needs.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to influence data expectations, now and into the future.

Operational Delivery

  • Own the development and operation of our insight and reporting solution, including architecture, tools and governance.
  • Ensure TESC contract compliance for data and reporting.
  • Support and guide the Data Performance Manager in stakeholder engagement and requirement gathering.

Technical Oversight

  • Champion best practices in data governance, quality, and security.
  • Deliver and maintain KPI frameworks to improve data completeness and accuracy.
  • Develop self-service reporting capability using Microsoft Power BI and other platforms.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Align the data strategy with wider IT and business architecture.
  • Engage with external vendors and internal teams to ensure the most effective technology solutions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven leadership in data insight, reporting or business intelligence teams.
  • Experience with Power BI and modern data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with data governance, quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a history of influencing senior decision-makers.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in a highly regulated environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Prior experience working on MoD contracts or within the Defence sector.
  • Understanding of asset and work management processes in a complex organisation.

Personal Attributes

  • Strategic thinker with strong delivery focus.
  • Proactive and positive, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to mentor and develop teams while managing performance effectively.
  • Clear, confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

Prerequisites

  • Eligibility for BPSS & SC security clearance.
  • UK driving licence (desirable).
