Job Introduction
We're looking for a proactive Compliance Manager to lead and support Hard Facilities Management (Hard FM) compliance across our regional portfolio. You'll ensure statutory, regulatory, contractual, and health & safety compliance is maintained across a diverse estate, working closely with operational teams, senior leadership and our customer.

- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 37hrs p/w, Monday - Friday
- Travel: May be required within the South West

What you'll do
- Act as the regional lead and subject matter expert for Hard FM compliance.
- Provide compliance reports, performance data, risk updates, and assurance information to customers and stakeholders.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, assurance reviews, and compliance investigations.
- Monitor statutory compliance across:
- Fire Safety
- Gas Safety
- Electrical Safety
- Fuel Systems
- Asbestos Management
- Legionella Control
- Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Assets
- Review planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance records to ensure compliance and accurate documentation.
- Identify overdue inspections, tests, and maintenance activities, implementing corrective action plans.
- Maintain compliance registers, certification, policies, procedures, and statutory records.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to operational teams on compliance risks and regulatory requirements.
- Support the management of compliance risks and ensure effective mitigation measures are in place.
- Drive continuous improvement across compliance systems, assurance processes, governance, and reporting.
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Experience in a Compliance Manager, Compliance Officer, Assurance Manager, Technical Compliance, Asset Compliance, Building Services, Engineering Compliance, or Hard FM role.
- Strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance within Facilities Management, Property Management, Defence, Infrastructure, Construction, or Engineering environments.
- Understanding of compliance requirements relating to fire, gas, electrical, asbestos, legionella, and M&E systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to analyse compliance data, identify trends, and produce reports.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
Desirable
- Experience working on Ministry of Defence (MoD) or other highly regulated contracts.
- HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (IWFM, IET, CIBSE, IHEEM or similar).
- Experience managing compliance audits, assurance programmes, and risk management processes.
