Building Maintenance Technician

Job Introduction

Landmarc Support Services, a leading facilities management company, is looking for a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join the team in Crowborough, East Sussex.

As a Building Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repairs to assets, buildings and equipment to support estate delivery, focusing on all aspects of internal and external fabric maintenance, preventative maintenance and inspections.

Main Responsibility

Perform maintenance and repairs to ensure all facilities are in optimal condition.

Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to prevent issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Ensure all tasks are performed in line with Training Estate Support Contract (TESC) standards, including asset maintenance, building repairs, new builds, and stock management.

Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, performing necessary risk assessments and method statements.

Collaborate with stakeholders, including asset users, employer representatives, and contractors, to ensure effective site delivery.

Maintain and enhance skills through further training and development courses.

Accept appointment as Authorised Person (AP) for safe systems of work in relevant disciplines.

Complete all relevant documentation using both IT and paper-based systems.

Drive and operate fleet vehicles, traveling to regional sites when necessary.

Participate in an on-call rota as needed, outside of normal working hours.

Carry out additional tasks as required by contract requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge of multi trade skills gained through the completion of level 3 qualification such as City and Guilds or equivalent supported by relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Proven experience in effectively communicating with customers
  • Experience with working at height, confined spaces, asbestos awareness, and Cable Avoidance Tool (CAT) training
  • Ability to work efficiently in a diverse, mobile team environment
  • Competence in operating and maintaining a range of tools and equipment
  • Proven ability to manage contract requirements within tight deadlines and quality standards
  • Willingness to undertake additional training for high-risk areas such as working at height and confined spaces.
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to undertake lone working
  • Must hold Full Valid UK driving licence (essential)
